X Factor 2008 runners-up JLS have said that they do not want to change anything about their lives. The boyband’s first single “Beat Again” debuted at number one in July 2009.

Band member Oritse Williams revealed that they couldn’t be happier with their success following the end of The X Factor.

He told Sugar: “While sometimes we miss walking down the street without being completely mobbed, we wouldn’t change this for the world.

“We wake up everyday smiling.”

He added: “We’re now in the position where we can inspire other people and become good role models for the UK’s teens.

After finishing runners-up of The X Factor last year and then breaking to the top of the charts, you may have thought JLS would be massive fans of this year’s show.

Well apparently not it seems. The group, who topped the charts in July with their debut single, have expressed their disappointment over the new format of this year’s version.

Speaking to GT Magazine, the four members of JLS claim the new live auditions format has ruined the nature and excitement of the show.

The ‘Beat Again’ stars also stated they were not big fans of the show and said the format is a copy-cat version of Britain’s Got Talent with wannabe contestants performing to an audience and playing to the camera.

Aston Merrygold said: “I watched it and expected to get a weird feeling because we were there a year ago - but I didn’t.

“It’s a completely different show now. I don’t like the new format - it has taken the build-up away.”

In previous versions of the show, first round hopefuls were taken into a room to meet and audition for the judges only with no audience and no backing track to aid them.

Only the final 12 contestants gained the experience of performing live to a stage audience.
