Hairspray is the story of an energetic girl named Tracy Turnblad, an aspiring dancer who wishes to earn a place on a neighbouring television series referred to as the Corny Collins Show. The programme is in fact based on a Baltimore-based series named the Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tracy is an unknown in the performing arena when she tries out, in any case she is picked for one of the performing spots & against exceptionally long odds turns out to be a dancing icon more or less overnight. The original cast in the West End also includes newcomer to the theatre arena, Leanne Jones, in the part of Tracy.

Hairspray the musical has gained scores of positive reviews from journalists & show enthusiasts alike. Jacqueline said: “I have been to see the play four times now & I will indeed be going back again at some point next week & a few more times after that. I love the moment and wish they could stay on much longer. Ben Ellis is astonishing as link and Leanne Jones as Tracey & Michael Ball, well they are all fantastic. The musical hairspray is indeed my favourite, simply because its upbeat and if you’re feeling a bit low then it will make you feel a great deal better.
